I suspect embarking on any relationship while worrying about being cheated on, is not actually getting off to a good start.

From a single parent perspective, one does feel vulnerable in starting out again after a failed relationship, or even after bereavement.

Someone else has mentioned this book in another thread and I, too, can thoroghly recommend it:

HAY! I've finally started reading that book after it was recommended here (quite some time ago) : )

Rather good it is too if maybe a bit uncomfortable, I keep reading bits and going... one minute that's me!

Yes it is an uncomfortable experience, but effective as a result, I believe. I especially like the bit where it invites you to write your own lonely heart type advert with all the awful things you have tolerated in partners contained in the ad.
