I was not sure where to put this so olease feel free to move it.

i live in a 1 bed flat with my 2 year old who has health issues. Asthma, eczema and allergic to almost everything. She is under consultant care and has been since 3 months old.Since birth she has been in hospital over 5 times due to breathing problems (i had to revive her once as a baby).

We suffer from mould in the bedroom, bathroom and hallway. Council has inspected it twice but mould is in daughters cot too and bed sheets. Recent tests have come back that she is allergic to the mould making the issue even more dangerious. However council say this is not an issue and even though consultant and doc has written to them saying we MUST be mived they will not budge. I am bidding in band 2 but have over a 2 year wait and will be moving to band 3 in sept after the changes.

i plan to go to local papers and mp with the council issue as i feel my daughters health is in great danger living here. They say to keep windows open with moukd but due to her pollen allergy i have to keep them closed- its a lose lose situation and need some advice about council :(

HI Tinkerbell2 that is appalling that your council have not taken notice after your doctor and consultant have written stating the dangerous effects.

Have you looked on your local council's website for 'Appealing against a housing decision' and see if you can take it further? If this has gotten you nowhere, I would definitely contact your local MP.

The Housing website Shelter have some interesting information about Disrepair affecting health and what to do.

Thank you for your reply and sorry for the delay.

i have contacted my local mp and now waiting on reply. I also contacted shelter who put me though to a legal team however they said my case is not strong enough to take on :(

Im getting very annoyed as it seems everyone is taking my daughters health as nothing serious, everyone apart from medical experts that is.

Her leg bowing and pigeon toes is getting worse with age (even thou its ment to get better) and she is now struggling to walk for a reasonable length of time :(

How frustrating Tinkerbell2, I hope that you hear back from your MP shortly. Was there nothing else Shelter could advise? Did they suggest anything before sending you to the legal team?
