Hi

My name is C and I am a single parent to my lovely 2 girls who are 12 and 15 months. They are the centre of my universe but am beginning to realise that I have lost my own identity and have become a worker, a book keeper I work 4 days a week and a mum. I need to meet new people and make new friends to find myself again. I am quite a shy and reserved person till I get to know people as I have anxiety and confidence issues.

I'm 33 and feel very old at the moment and need to do something to change the way I am feeling cause I KNOW there is more to life than this.

Hello cld287 and welcome to One Space, have just edited out your real name as we keep things anonymous here.

You have a busy life with your girls and job. It can be hard to get out and about with your hands full. Luckily not only have you now found us for online support and chat but also we have lots of information for you and here is a start with a helpful article about Making New Friends (click to see)

What things do you/ DID you like doing in your free time?

Hi Louise

I like reading a watching tele in my spare time when the kids are in bed. I love going out with friends and socialising but I haven't done much of that lately and am feeling isolated which is why I am posting on forums trying to make new friends.

Yes it's hard isn't it, to get a social life going when you have your hands full. have you kept in touch with some of your old friends? What about the neighbours, would you have a little open house event over Christmas to get to know them? Do use some of the ideas in the article, a few people on here seem to have enjoyed going to MeetUps events.

I am a telly fiend, watch too much really. What is your favourite at the moment?
