Hey just thought i would introduce myself before asking for help or advice. My name is S and I am 30 years old, I am a single parent. My son is 12 nearly 13 and has Type 1 diabetes, high functioning aspergers syndrome and severe anxiety disorder. I am employed full time as a teacher and if the truth be known really struggling.

Your life must certainly be very busy, not only being a one parent, but also teaching, and all that involves!! Does your son have contact with his father? Do you have family and friends for support? I'm sorry that things are a struggle at the moment. My fifteen year old has autism/aspurgers and at the moment isn't doing too well emotionally.

You must be very busy what with your job and parenting alone and coping with your boy's health conditions. Is his diabetes fairly well-controlled? I know it can be a fine balance and they end up having a lot of time off school if it is not quite right. IS your son in mainstream school or does his Asperger's mean he needs some special educational provision?
