Hi.. :)

AmelieAshton

Hello everyone!

My name is K, i've been a single parent since my son was 3 weeks old, he's 2 and 1/2 now. Its only really now that i'm starting to realise i am actually a single parent... if that makes sense. Like i've just had a chance to stop and think about it.. and i would really like to make some new friends in the same situation as me. Most of my friends with out children are drunk all the time, and most of my friends with children are happily coupled up and so tend spend weekends/holidays together... meaning my world can be a bit lonely! I don't have a large family, so as i said before, i'd like to make some new friends.. even if it just online.

Anyway, hope everyone else is well!

x

Hello AmelieAshton

Good to have you with us, you are welcome. Sounds as if you are just "coming up for air" after all the busy-ness of your son's first years.

It is indeed good to have friends in the same situation. There is plenty of online friendship here, you can also try NetMums and please have a look at our article Making New Friends.

Does your son see his dad?

Look forward to getting to know you Smile

Hi AmelieAshton

Ah yes, the baby time is a busy one!  My lot are getting on a bit now (youngest is 12, I've been on my own since he was 5), and yet still seem to be needing me!

Looking forward to getting to know you too.

Hello AmelieAshton

What you've put makes absolute sense. I think we get so busy and engrossed in our little one's upbringing that we focus everything on them, and then one day when we get 5 mins to ourselves it suddenly hits us about the situations we are in ourselves.

Nice to meet you. Hope to chat soon.

xx
