Forum Newbie - Hello!

tvmj5170

Hi Everyone, I'm a single Mom, 42years (separated from ex hubby since 2009).  Three kids aged 15 (girl),13 (boy),10 (boy).

Trying to move on with my life, finding things difficult in some aspects. My main issue right now is loneliness, don't have a social life at all, through my own fault of not making an effort, practically housebound, which I know not good for my mental health.  Would like to turn a new leaf and do something nice for myself for a change - where do I start?  Don't have many friends I could go out with but have spare time on fortnightly basis when kids are with ex at weekends.

Are their any meeting groups in HERTS/North London areas?  Don't mind mixed or female only groups,  or not fussed about meeting place, but I need to get out and about cos staying indoors all the time is killing me.

Thanks for your time

welcome - I would recommend meetups.com - you can choose which kind of group in my area like over 40's ladies group or a mixed group - hope there is something in your area too.

Hi tvmj5170

Good to see you here.  This is a good place for some virtual company.

I'm afraid my adult fix is scouting, but it doesn't get me a social life, so to speak, but does get me out of the house.

Thanks for the tip lrh - it's funny, the first post thread I read on this site was yours!

SL - thanks for your kind words - much appreciated.  I spend most of my time ferrying the kids around to various events during the week (rugby, netball, athletics, football) and don't make time for myself when I have the opportunity.  Getting bored of my own company, LOL!

Hi tvmj5170

Welcome to One Space. Smile

It is a good sign that you are ready to go out and about and meet new people. Have a look at our article - Making New Friends - which has some tips and links to useful sites for meeting people.

Do you get to chat with the other parents at your childrens activities?
