The oddest thing happened last night. For some reason, nothing to do with me (as far as I know! Cool), my new phone decided to Friend Request all friends of friends........I have been inundated with emails and notifications saying that xyz has accepted my friend request. So far I have had 156 acceptances!

These people come from all over the world, I can see who our mutual friend/friends are but for the vast majority I never heard of, let alone met.

I am finding it completely bizarre that people randomly accept a Friend Request from someone they don't know.

My question is........would you accept a Friend Request from someone you didn't know, just because they were a friend of a friend???

That is odd Anna and No i dont ever accept friend requests from people i don't know, then again i sometimes don't accept them from people i do either, that probably sounds bad, but i find it enough trying to keep up to date with my close friends and family.

Did you find out why your phone started to request friends?

Hi Sal and No I have no idea why my phone did this, I am still getting acceptances. It is sooo bizarre!

Some real blasts from the past have been arising though, people who I really don't want seeing my photos/wall etc. So have to shut them down as soon as they Accept!

Funny old world!

Has this happened to anyone else?

I don't accept requests from people I don't know.  I have a secret group for my Scout group and get odd requests for that too.

I've not had that problem you had Anna - yet.  FB can be so odd the way it keep changing boundaries!  I am funny about putting photos on.  I'll check what the children put on too, even though they're grown up!

Good idea to keep a check on what your children put on FB, my son would not friend me at first but he was friends with my mum and other family members and they would report back to me what he was up to, not that he has done anything yet that i need to chat to him about!!!

Ha ha! My phone friend requested my daughters boyfriend, he said Yes then sulked because he said I only requested him by accident!

Its amazing the impact a friend request can have on someone. Funnily enough someone requested me a couple of months ago, it was my first ever kiss, I was 8! I now live 200 miles away and haven't seen him since I was about 10! I didn't accept it as I thought that would be a bit weird, but what I found stranger was that he didn't send a message to say Hi How are you, lets be friends etc, I might have said Yes if he had!

Ha, Anna, funnily enough I just saw someone on FB yesterday who was my first kiss (at 12) Stupidly, I was surprised how old he had become, well of course he wouln't still be 12, how bizarre.

I must admit I do not trust the privacy settings on FB! Never heard of anything happening like your experience though. My eldest used to work in a very posh clothes shop and I pointed out that describing his occupation as "toadying to rich ***s and selling them overpriced sh**" was not very sensible.
