This hasn't made the news in the same way as the Beko inflammable fridge/freezers have but is just as worrying.

I'm posting this link to a discussion about glass doors on different models of washing machines exploding without an apparent cause.

That blog has many useful sections about white goods and consumer rights.

Have just been reading about the doors on washing machines. Blimey!!! It's not just one particular brand either. The one I have, Beko, was mentioned a few times, eekkkk.

My Beko washer failed catastrophically the 1st time I used it. It got red hot and wouldn't stop filling with water. It wouldn't turn off and I had to pull the plug out from the wall. Needless to say it went back to the shop immediately and I got a refund for a clearly faulty machine.

OMG.  It makes you almost terrified to have any white goods at all!  Ideally you'd need a seperate, fireproof room for them Cool

I think I remember reading about a washer door blowing out...
