Good Morning All!

I have 2 children both under my exs second name.. i have applied to have their names changed by deed poll to my name as their father has then once a week, doesnt pay for them and isnt associated in their "home" life school, drs etc.

As i need a letter of consent and he refuses outright to allow me through the sheer pleasure of having control ... Does anyone know what I may be able to do ?

He is named on the birth certificate too.

Thank You and Best Wishes to all

Hi St3phi3

I had the same situation when my daughter was small. Although you can't legally change their name without the permission of the father, you are allowed to call them what you wish!

I changed my daughters name to my surname at school, the doctors etc. However her passport and eventually her bank account, had to be in her legal name.

When she turned 16, she chose to legally change her name to  mine by deed poll and there was nothing anyone could do about it.

Please feel free to contact our Legal Advisor for further information.

Thanx Anna :)

I'll try and see what I can do, I am having the same trouble with CSA aswell as he always seems to be able to worm his way out of the things. Very frustrating.
