HELLY13

Hi Ladies,

I received a County Court form as I am being chased for a debt. I returned them, along with expenditure form, for them to decide how much I can pay back each month. Now the Solicitors who are handling the debt, Thomas Higgins Partnership have sent a letter saying I have not responded and now going to lodge a CCJ, and sdend the bailiffs. Where do I stand as I sent the forms back by post! Shall I email the Solicitors?

Any help appreciated! :(

Hi HELLY13

It is always so worrying when we receive letters like this, however it sounds as though you have done what you were supposed to.

If it were me I think that I would telephone the solicitors and speak to them. They may say that the info got to them too late and it has already been lodged in court, if that is the case there will be little they can do to retract that.

Our legal advisor specialises in Family Law, however you can contact our Debt & Benefit expert from Citizens Advice Bureau.

The CAB are inundated with enquiries so it could take up to 7 working days to get a response, so if you are able to, it might be worthwhile going down to your nearest CAB advice centre and talking with an advisor there.

Try not to worry to much, this will get sorted out eventually. Just get as much info and extra support you need. Keep us updated.

I manged to sort the issue out. Contacted the Debt company and they forwarded my outgoings/incoming form to the debt holder. They accepted my offer and they first direct debit went out last month, the next due in a few days. Am hoping if my PPI claim is successful to pay it off!

Thanks for the update HELLY13, glad you were able to get it sorted, people can get really worried about receiving those sort of letters.  Fingers crossed your PPI pays off Smile
