bedtimelive

Hello everyone at onespace.org.uk

Hope you don’t mind me contacting you.

I am currently making a new TV series called ‘Bedtime Live’ for Channel 4. It’s set to be the Channel’s biggest public health programme of 2013.

The idea behind the series is to look into the issues that surround teaching children how to sleep and the variety of sleep issues children suffer with, from the everyday to the more uncommon. We will highlight how important it is to get a full night’s sleep and unravel the science behind it all with regards to sleep deprivation and also what may be holding someone back from sleeping. We will, of course, also be looking into the best routines for putting a child to bed and helping lots of parents out there with a range of sleep issues who are tearing their hair out and have no idea where to turn. We don’t want to scare parents, we want to come up with solutions.

Professor Tanya Byron, along with a team of top sleep specialists, will aid our families with bedtime during our live shows and offer on-going advice to parents who get in contact with us. They will also stay in touch with families that we film with over the series and do their best to fix any issues, we don’t want to leave any families in the lurch! We want to make a difference!

There has been a lot of work in the media recently centring around nutrition but very little around how important sleep is for children’s development. We feel that this area of childhood is something parents struggle with and don’t very often discuss. The ability to sleep is a skill that you learn at childhood and we feel that the more this is talked about the more the right skills and techniques can be handed to parents.

With the pressures of living in the modern world and parents having less and less time to spend with their children, we want to hand them the skills to combat this problem and at the same time learn that bit more about what the situation is in Britain today.

What we are currently looking for is those families to be involved. We want to speak to any families in which children are struggling with sleep and could do with some free specialist advice.

The show will be a fantastic study and we truly believe it will be worthwhile.

If you are interested and would like to talk to me more about the programme please e-mail sleep@twofour.co.uk or call 02074381938.

All the best,

Helen

Hi Helen, this sounds really interesting and something that i would have welcomed years ago when my children were younger, i look forward to seeing the show when it is aired.

Best of luck with your search in finding parents to participate Smile
