Bailiffs are provided by the County Court to collect fines etc or by a bank, utility company or local authority, why are you needing one?

Hello, thank you for your comment. THe father of my son doesnt pay alimonies. I'm from the other country and with the help of bailiffs I have to:

1. register documents  in England;

2. recover alimonies.

Wonder if bailiffs in UK have same prices. In my country the prices vary.

Thank you for help in advance!!!

Hi Beone

I don't know what the charges are for baliffs. Are you going through a lawyer in your country? I think you will need to do this, in order to do everything in the correct legal manner,

Hello Louise,

I dont use lawyer's service right now. UK bailiffs from on e company told me I need to present now Courts decision to them and they will register it and will  recover money for me from the defendant.

It will cost for me to translate documents, but the cost of the service of UK bailiffs  will cost me an arm and a leg (500 pouns + VAT)... Thats why I am searching as cheep as possible service. What if defendant will not have money? So I will spend  money which I need NOW for the CHILD and will stay without nothing....

Thank you very much for your advices!

Yes I see your problem, Beone,.the baliffs here can only act on a court order but of course you are not guaranteed that the father will have the money or even possessions that can be sold to recover the money. I am wondering if the amount of money you would need to spend would not be worth it, and maybe better to put that money into care of your child and to work to support your family, without worrying too much about pursuing legal action.

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes I also think like that. BUt there is another side: if it happens so that I loose the job, the government will not pay me support as I will not be gone through the proces of getting alimonies. I wonder if they has such a right as that costs SO much money. And for a lonely mother.. When mothers who's defendants live in our country gets bigger support - the government pays little "alimonies" for the child and searches for the defendant instead of a mother...

I discover a new feeling in me. I started to hate father of my son. He told me that I still need him thats why I'm looking for alimonies as according his opinion I should look FOR A NEW FATHER FOR THE CHILD WHO would support a child...  He told I need to do therapy on that... Is that typical English thinking?  its not easy and happy to live with hate.

Thank you

Erm......typical English thinking? not sure on that one. Why should you have to "find another father for your child"? HE is the father and HE is responsible. I understand what you mean, he thinks you are using the child to maintain a relationship with him, well he has responsibilities.

I hear what you are saying about child support, obviously I do not know the system in your country and I would say that a lawyer in your country would be better placed to advise you than me. Maybe if you got a document signed by a lawyer to say that you had done your utmost (within your financial means) to contact the dad, that might be accepted by the authorities in your country. As I say, only your own lawyer can advise on that.
