You've said that so well Louise... x

I'm off to see a friend this afternoon.  On the island this time :-)  Youngest is coming with me as she has a daughter of a similar age.  I'm picking up a friend on the way too.

Still no working oven or hob here.  Hopefully tomorrow.  How long have I been saying that for now?

I hope the book is interesting Louise.

Hope everyone is having a decent evening. It's been very windy here.

Wishing you all a good week and see you on Saturday, I will look forward to all your news. Have a great birthday on Tuesday, PQ Laughing

Glad you are having some time off PQ and tomorrow is your birthday yeeee I hope you get lovely presents, breakfast in bed and some chill out time   :)

The weather has turned here it was cold and the heating switched on ...have to find out how to switch it off, though it was pleasant to have warm towels this morning.

Glad you had a good time with your friend Sparkling and that your daughter has a place in Uni, hope you recover a bit tomorrow  Sparkling

My courses have started, drawing, nursing and the beginning of psychology, the first 2 are easy enough to follow and interesting enough to follow, but the psychology one I struggle with at the moment, i thought it was all about psychology, but so far it is all about atoms, systems, neurons and how the neurons transmit to eas other, how inhibitors work, very chemical, hopefully it will not get too difficult. Love doing it though

Just popping in quickly, thanks all for the birthday wishes, had SUCH a brilliant weekend. Love my friends so very much, its weekends like that one that make me realise how lucky I am to have such brilliant people around me here. Was sad when it was all over!

Hope you're all having a good week x

Hi Immi. So glad you had such a fab birthday ! so glad you have so many good friends...

Open2study in Australia I do them now, the 3, which is in a way a bit of a mistake because the nursing course for instance starts about the whole Australian health care system but it is a really good course and you do get certificates at the end and it IS free !!

I also will do another 2 courses at FutureLearn (UK) which will start in September, it really is brill to get some background knowledge and also to determine if this is for you to go deeper into it

Have a lovely day all, PQ is having her birthday today, almost don't dare to say Happy Birthday anymore as I have already said it all week :)

Good evening everyone,

Thankyou for the birthday wishes, I had a lovely day. I was at home in the morning then went to my parents and stayed over with them last night. They took the girls and I out for a pub meal which was lovely. The girls made me some lovely presents, a decorated cushion and some paintings, all gorgeous, they made me so happy Smile.

I'm back home now without the girls, they have stayed at my parents, they'll be there until the end of August. I'm off to Denmark tomorrow for a bit of me time. I can't wait.

Was waterworld an indoor place skyflower? I can't imagine being outdoors in the water any more as the temperature's has really dropped over the last few days....brrrr!!

Glad you had a good birthday too Immi, friends are very important, I'm glad you have some good ones.

My children woke me up one night, and then it is pain when I move.

Tonight I'll be tracking a plane on the way back from Turkey!  Tomorrow I might sleep, and even have a lie-in on Saturday :-)

I've never been a good sleeper really, but such a difference between being awake and not being able to sleep - if that makes sense.

Off to see Mother-in-Law later.  We will have a game  of Boggle, I'm sure.  Need to drop some shopping off then for my friend and his son.  They'll be home about 4am, I think.

I've left some surprises around the place for him :-))

There's up to a 12 month wait before you get contacted to make an appointment to see a consultant.  It's only pain, at the end of the day.

Ooh Sparkling it is fab that he is on his way back and you have left him some surprises, hopefully he will have some fab pictures to show you. And I hope you can sleep better too Laughing

Skyflower those Waterworld places are fun but of course very popular. I always used to make my boys get up really early so we were the first to arrive at things. Although this meant they got round things, they also tell me now that they got sick of arriving early to everything and sitting in the car park waiting for things to be open or for parties to start. I must have had a psychological need to hurry all the time, we will find out what that is when you have done your psychology course, Skyflower Wink Are you finding the courses fit in OK with work?

Hello Immi, glad you had a fab birthday. What are you up to over the Bank Hol weekend?

PQ wishing you a great trip to Denmark, your birthday sounds fab and I am glad the girls spoiled you Smile Look forward to your holiday news when you get back.

I am continuing to plough through the giant book, it is actually a really nice story and once my friend and I have finished with it, it will be good, haha.

What's everyone doing this weekend? My neighbour's daughter is getting married today so I am going to the evening do with my pack of lovely neighbours. The bride was 18 months old when I moved here! Then on Monday I am going to one of those retail parks to look for some bargains.

Nice to see you again Louise. I  know what you are saying about those places.  The same was for Alton Towers.  Hordes  of people and we want to make the most of it, thinking if we get there early, they get more rides, but kids look at it so very differently.

So glad my house is not overwhelmed anymore with teenagers, though it still is so very popular, but my son divides it so well now and I did not even need to buy more snacks today, thanks to being away and the cinema yesterday.  I had a voucher for photos and thought about it, as when the kids were babies I had photo sessions done which were such beautiful photos. but now, as teenagers there's no way you can hang them on the wall....if I wouldn't have had the voucher I would not have bothered but as the session was paid for,  they kept phoning me and I thought it would maybe be nice to have one picture made for my father. So 3 days before going, the groomer shaved the dog entirely and she looked awful, really really ugly and I did not look forward to the session.

So we had these photos made and I saw them yesterday and they were so lovely despite the teenagers, the dog shaven and me not as I remember me. So I chose such a lovely one for my dad.

I have had such horrible feedback about my dad, that he speaks gobbledygook and recognises no one, but every time I phone, he asks me very clearly when am I coming and I say 8 more weeks dad keep counting you have to keep counting and I will be there...and he says o that's much better than 8 months, see you soon and he hangs up. It's only minutes of conversation now but I cherish every second.

Hope it is a lovely wedding Louise, so nice you know everyone so well .....Have a lovely weekend everyone :)

Oh do you mean the Lord of the Rings film, Skyflower? I liked that, went to the cinema with my eldest to see it when it was first made. He said you are only allowed to come if you promise not to say "Morrrdorrr." So as soon as the lights went down I shouted "MORRRRR-DORRRRR really loudly, HA.

How sad about your Dad and it is good there is a plan for another visit. I expect he really gears himself up for your phone calls. That is fab to have a picture done. When my friend had one of her three boys, she put it next to her desk at work and a colleague came over and said "Oh which boy band is this?" because the photo was so professional. Glad you are reaping the benefits for having set your boundaries with the eldest, it is proof that however hard it may be to put your foot down, it is worth it!

The wedding party was lovely. When we arrived the main speeches were not over so a load of us were left waiting in the foyer. Once the speeches finished, this really tactless man from the venue poked his head out of the door and announced "All the people who weren't invited to the wedding can come in now!" I could not stop laughing, it was so bizarre, like Fawlty Towers.

Today more work on the book, I have 100 pages left to edit so hopefully should get 25 of those done today.

What's everyone up to? The weather looks pretty good. I am going to put some stewing beef in the slow cooker for later. Youngest had a night out last night for his birthday so has only recently gone to bed Surprised

Haha, you are so terrible did he forgive you ? I bet he never brought you to the cinema again :) yes that IS the film I meant....

They are really good, at the studio, Louise, because I said, o the youngest has a tooth missing on there and she said no worries we will just fill that in and there was another photo hanging in the studio of a small boy with a beautiful face and they said he had been full of eczema but they can take all that out.....and for my dad to have a picture will make it easier for him to know who we are, when I phone at a later stage maybe..

Yes I find my eldest more reasonable as well in his approach but still you have to keep at it to make sure it sticks :) it all needs doing before the youngest starts....

Glad you had such a lovely time at the wedding Louise, despite the tactless man, wow, and hope your book finishes soon, I have just been for a walk, so beautiful it was and a lot of people so friendly walking their dogs, am thinking I will do another one this afternoon before the weather starts being completely autumny again, I so hate that and the studying, I do during the weekends Louise, or sometimes on my iPad in bed, in the evenings. The psychology for beginners has moved on from communications between neurons, to the whole nervous system and is daunting as even though I like biology, I had meant to do just the beginnings of psychology as the title says, and it is so very detailed I am afraid to not remember any of the names later on, which part of the brain is taking care of when you nearly burn your finger and withdraw, or the fight and flight, etc or the relaxing state, or when you compose yourself....

The nice thing about online studying is you can pick up were you left off any time and they also transcribe if you just want to read it back, in the psychology one there are more than 2000 students online you can interact with, from different countries...the downside is because you are not going somewhere on a regular basis, like 2 evenings a week, if you are tired, it is hard to start the next module.

Have a lovely Sunday, everyone, enjoy the good weather and get out there before it turns :)

Hello Rev, and welcome to the Chatroom, this is the bit of this site where we talk about how our day has gone and more mundane things like what we have watched on TV or had for dinner. I saw on the other thread about your dreadful situation (click here for your thread) and we will be happy to support you on there but please keep this thread for chat only. We have other parents who have been, or are separated from their children so I do hope they will comment on your thread. Hope your Sunday has been a decent one.

Hi Skyflower, walking your dog is a good way to get chatting to other people. I know what you mean about psychology courses, I have enjoyed learning the things about motivation and different psychological schools of thought but I did the neuron thing as well a few years ago and it made very little sense to me, not being very scientific. The book is going well and I have done 16 pages today and will try to do another chapter this evening, it is very slow progress.

Bank Holiday tomorrow so I hope most of you are off work?

Yes the neuron thing I did the assessment and got 100 percent it said 'you aced it ' god knows how as I just tried out some answers......still haven't got a clue about it and hope it moves on soon :)

As if it has been nearly 3 months since I showed my face! How shameful of me!

I have been so busy, I can't even begin to think hwere to begin x_X well in July, we had our 6 mon th review court hearing (sorry, 20 week review ;) hehe) and Sprog's dad was permitted to have her unsupervised for 2 hours every week, on top of the visits with his parents, although so far he's only seen her for 2 hours every Tuesday, and has been bringing his gf of about 6 months along with him, like why???? He hadn't even mentioned she'd be there, she was just there! I had a massive go at him on the first week I handed Sprog over to him, it was the hardest 2 hours of my life! I'd rather sit all my exams and endure childbirth again over that day! I went and sat in Costa and cried :\ the even more enraging part is that legally he's not doing anything wrong :( his mum isn't happy with him either though, and she's made it quite known to him! Hehe

I've also been doing quite well with my CBT, and on 1st Sept, I should be receiving discharge papers, or shortly after that session :D hehe

I nearly had a job, but cos I couldn't be totally flexible, they took it away, plus Sprog's nursery (she's being funded for 4 hours per week on a Monday while I'm in CBT for an hour!!!) want nearly £700 up front! I don't even have £100 spare knocking about :(

I'm now looking to move to Caister-on-Sea or Great Yarmouth ^_^

I think that just about covers everything lol hope everyone else is well!

That's a lot of news, CleverMummy! Well done on your CBT, I do hope you have found it helpful. A lot of parents say they have problems when the contact arrangements change, as you say he is not doing anything illegal and I hope you can feel more settled about things, moving forward. What has prompted this move to Norfolk?

Hi Skyflower and happy Bank Holiday. The editing, well not only do you have to correct the grammar, spelling and punctuation and set it out correctly with the dialogue and paragraphs but also there can be some rephrasing involved, often a writer will write how they speak, if you understand me, and it needs formalising. Also, if there are any factual things in the book they have to be checked...the character in this one spent an evening singing various pop songs and so I had to research all the lyrics of the songs as the writer had quoted them wrongly. Finally there can be a lack of consistency, yesterday the character was carrying two shawls and two horse-blankets then it said she picked up a plate of food and a coffee. I had to write an extra bit in that she had left the blankets in the house, and sometimes they get the characters mixed up or have them having a hysterectomy in chapter one and pregnant in chapter six!!

What are you up to today, Skyflower?

How is everyone? it's a bit grey out there. I am going to the retail park at York and meeting some friends for tea there later.

Hi Clevermummy so good to see you again, it WAS a long time, so glad your CBT is nearly finished how fab !! it must be hard, the change of contact, I hope it gets easier with time....

Can't believe the editing, Louise, to be that bad :) I can imagine spelling, punctuation and sometimes rephrasing being necessary but the storyline ? Gosh it is easier to write a book yourself almost !

Its awful weather today, what a pity, did loads of food shopping (thank God I didn't do it with the weather so beautiful yesterday) and had a go at the next module, which is more to what I thought the subject was, will make some hot chocolate,

and soup !! Later on a friend will come over with her kids, we will be all making loombands and other arts and crafts, just to cheer us up, tried to find some snails to do the snail race Anna suggested but Someone :) might have eaten them all !!

Skyflower, it wasn't me that ate the snails (honest!) Did you get the loom bands? I felt something in my shoe the other day and took it off to find a band in between two of my TOES, after visiting my friend who has a nine year old. Yes the editing is certainly quite complicated.

I got loads of stuff at the bargain store, including kitchen towels, a travel adaptor for my son's trip, a rack for the kitchen (for pots, not heretics, ha!) some water filters and a silly present for my youngest. Met friends for fish and chips afterwards Laughing

I'm looking for a job too... once every fortnight I browse internet and apply for a few of them. It's not that I don't care to find a job. To get a job I need to id myself and I can not do that without my IDs detained by the police 9 months ago. And later I show that jobsearch to JCP. I know it's not fair, but I have got to support myself somehow. I have to pay the rent and bills. If I get a job, that will surely be without paying taxes, because what other choice do I currently have without IDs? I'm not willing to give up on my house because of the whole f**** system misconduct till the nightmare is over.

Thanks all :-) CBT has definitely been quite useful!

I do hope so, I mean if I knew he tried and genuinely made an effort to keep things working with his partners, I wouldn't mind so much, but as this isn't the case, I am concerned, but because it's not someone different every week, or month, apparently I'm not allowed to complain :-/ I'm dreading the time when he'll be allowed to have her stay overnight :'(

I've been wanting to move up there for years hehe now seems to be the best time for Sprog and me, before she starts school, I've got to go put her name down from next month!!!! Eeek hehe

Louise, the editing sounds like lots of fun hehe :-p

Hi Rev, Its hard when you are in a bad place to see how things can possibly be any different. I've also realised, from dark times of my own, that it is easy to forget about the things that makes us happy. Going for a nice walk, listening to music that you love or watching a favourite movie? Maybe you could think about what little things used to bring you happiness and set some time for them in your day. I love Elbow, specifically their album 'Seldom Seen Kid', I play it at full volume and sing my heart out, always makes me feel better, even if its just in the moment.

Well, back to work for me today. Its not been too bad so far. My girls are still with my mum and dad so I have the evenings to myself this week. I have no money left and its not payday until thursday so I'll be staying in!! I have uniforms to lable tonight......woohoo.....living in the fast lane Wink.

Trying to forget about my children for a tiny moment... Yes, I remember I used to like listening to my favourite music playlist. And I loved reading my large collection of books. But they were stolen from me too. They were on one of those computers detained by the police. And I can not even register myself to the library without my IDs also detained by the police. Whole my life has fallen appart.

I went to a shrink lately. Not because I feel that I am crazy, but because I can not sleep. He told me that it is a form of anxiety and that I can heal myself. What a nonsense. It's the system that needs healing, not me. I just can not sleep because I don't cope with this system.

Hi all, as Skyflower says 'I'm back!' It is nice to read everyone's news, great to see old faces and also meet new people too.

(May I remind everyone on this forum thread though that this space was created for day to day chit chat.

If you are feeling in need of extra support please use a different thread, where we can offer more in depth support, rather than in the midst of a chatty conversation)

I have had a super few days away. My friend lives in Barcelona, she has worked really hard all her life and has a couple of businesses. I went over to her spent some time on the beach, swimming and sun bathing, then midweek, we drove through the pyrenees and I helped her move into her new holiday home in france! It was fantastic! She really is a lucky woman, but it is all her own making and I am so proud of her! I have had a great time Smile

So who is back at work this week? Is this the last week of the summer holidays?

Rev, I'm so sorry to hear what you're going through, hope you're ok

Sparkling, glad you've got your cooker :-D

PQ glad you're feeling better :-)

Anna nice to see you again,  sounds like you had a fabulous time ^_^

Thanks Skyflower, Sprog was fine, it's not her I need to really worry about right now, it's her dad, him and his gf were wearing onesies (his was batman, hers was a blue and purple one like sully from Monsters Inc) and they were wearing matching zebra hats..... While sprog was playing, I met up with a friend for coffee, and we started making a slow mosey back through town to pick sprog up and waited outside (the soft play cafe is glass fronted) I thought we were just 10 minutes early, but he came out and said to go away, there's still half an hour left and it's supposed to be unsupervised contact :-/ I nearly cried :-( I can't stand him, I don't understand why he has to be so horrid to me all the time :-( I've felt rubbish since and I had a terrible night sleep last night :-( xxx

ooooo Clevermummy you really did not need this, it was already hard to cope with the changes of visiting and how you describe it, you were really doing great, having a coffee with a friend, such a good choice when you don't feel well about a situation....

but you know what ? If you would have been 1 minute late, he would have been just as horrible to you, as it has nothing to do with you, but everything to do of how he is as a person. I am so glad you got away from him and I think you did really terrific !!!! Well done for not crying in front of him !!!!

(((((big hug))))) xx

No I didn't, and yes he would have, of which they made quite a quick exit once I got there and started putting her shoes back on :-/ yeah I was having a good laugh with my friend, it was nice, he ruined my day completely :-(

I'm glad I got out of the relationship when I did too, but wish I hadn't have claimed maintenance now, he probably wouldn't have taken me to court if I had he wasn't happy about me claiming maintenance :-/ *sigh*

I need to pick myself back up today and get stuck in to my housework, it's not really happening right now though :-(

Thanks Skyflower *big huggles* xxxx

Hi clevermummy, try not to let him get to you, its probably what he wants anyway. Forget the housework, go and do something fun Smile

Thanks PQ, you're right :-) I can't really neglect the housework for another day though, I haven't done any washing up since Sunday night, we've been out every day since then, last night was the first night I've done any cooking since coming back from my parents house on Saturday hehe :-/ xxx

Friend did enjoy his surprises.

The meal went down well here this evening.  My lot as so excited that we can cook again.

I hope everyone is able to enjoy the rest of the holidays.  I'm already nagging my two. One will be going into Year 11 and the 18 year old into the second year of his BTEC course.  Stress levels with him are going to be awful as the new examining board is going to be super strict.

Hope everyone is ok.
