A is due to start school next september.

I have no idea how to apply for primary schools or applying/viewing start dates.

I know I have two schools by me- the nearest has a grade 4 ofsted report which I believe is the lowest you can get and the 2nd school is a Church Of England. I am agnostic so not sure she would get accepted into that one.

As a 1st time mummy I have no idea what im ment to do  but read Im ment to start applying by start of 2015.

Help please

Hello Tinkerbell2.

Your local Area Education Office has details of all the schools in your area and probably has a pack of info they can send you. Do a search online to find their number/website.

As for the schools near you, the church school may well ask parents to fill in an extra form about their faith/community involvement and allocate places on that basis. The other school sounds as if it is the most likely as you are in that catchment area. Of course it is very concerning if the OFSTED is not brilliant, but on the other hand you need to consider that you will have to get A there every day (possibly with another baby in tow as time goes on) so you have to take "how would I ge there?" into consideration. You can find out about the details of the particular school's report by looking here Are there any other schools you could get to easily?

But as well as reading the report, I do recommend contacting the Area Education office first as they will have some guidance. If you have trouble finding yours, come back on here and tell us...and also have a look at your profile and make sure you have put your up to date postcode in there.

I honestly don't know, kiera, it may well vary with different local authorities. Give the school a ring and find out what their policy is, some schools can have two intakes a year.
