so once you finish work programme and go back to jcp you are expected to sign on daily . holidays dragging your kids there every day isbhardly fair on them.

Hi aphy,

This article states some of the flexibilities that may be available to you: Job seeking or work programme during the children's school holidays.

I think it is worth contacting the Job Centre and finding out what their policy is.

Let us know what they say.

i start new job in sept so was annoyed when jcp advisor told me i would still have to sign on daily. So. I told him i think its rather unfair that seeing as i have a job to go to that in expected to sign on daily. Eventually he spoke to his boss. Got 2 week stay of execution. Fair enough if i dont sign off in 2 weeks. Seems you still have to sign om daily even if kids are on holiday.

I am really shocked about you having to sign on every day. More and more, it feels as if single parents are being targeted more than other people who are claiming JSA!!!

u get your work sheet as normal and also a book to say what you did to look for work. I honestly get the feeling all this is just to trip you up. I hope my job doesn't fall through as i cant take much more if the stress.

Pam

Signing daily serves no purpose as far as helping people find work. Sad to think that it is being used to harras and make things even more difficult for the unemployed. It must feel like a punishement and for single parents their children are also being punished. There are rules about the sort of activities that children can take part in whilst being looked after by a childminder presumably to ensure children are well cared for. Children of single parents derserve to be treated with the same respect.
