Parent led support service for those involved in the Children's Hearing System

Posted by Tracey Lockhart at March 11. 2008

Hi any single parents in Scotland interested in a brand new soon to launch parent led, parent centred Organisation based in the South West of Scotland.  Set up primarily to provide support  to parents who have Children involved in the Hearing System due to challenging behaviour in the Community (e.g. anti-social), at home or at School.

We have a team of fully qualified professional single parent Volunteers including three fully qualified Child Care Practitioners, three Mental Health Nurses and a Senior Educational Adviser all on board.

Would like to hear from any single parent in regard to single parent input into the service offered.

We aim to set up Parent Support Groups where parents can meet, share experiences, network and share Parenting Skills and Strengths.  Within this setting we aim to provide an environment where qualified speakers from local and national organisations can come in and provide information on a range of subjects such as:

Child Protection

Hi could well do in future. At moment basing and piloting in Dumfries.  Post ur ideas for sessions that would benefit parents and might end up delivering one in your area.

we have planned sessions on raising Alcohol/drug/anti-social behaviour awareness in parent .
