Hi, I'm new here. 33, only married in 2005. Had my baby last June 5 weeks prem. Husband left us 5 weeks later. Baby delights me every day but is hard work as has reflux and mild cerebral palsy affecting her walking (but she's only 10 1/2 months). Feel quite depressed at times, all the mums at the groups I attend have husbands and don't understand. I would love to meet single mums or dads for a chat etc, if there's a group nearby then that's be even better, prepared to travel.
Thanks, Charlotte

Hi Charlotte. I'm new here too and I live near Guildford! Know what you mean about other mums, they try to be sympathetic but just don't understand how hard it is just to get out of bed each morning because you have to keep on going because you are a mum!
I have three children and would also like to chat to other single mums.

Hi Charlotte and Jess, I've been a single mum for a while now and I understand how you feel. I have two fantastic sons (4 and 6) and we will hopefully be moving to the Guildford/Farnham area in the not too distant future and it would be great to chat and get to know other single parents beforehand which could make the transition a bit easier. It's mindblowingly scary leaving behind my network of friends etc.
Jess, I understand how you feel - my husband left us when my second son was 3 months old. It was very hard but ironically, I found that having to get up and look after my kids was my lifeline. Who knows how long I would have buried myself in my duvet if I didn't have to get up and get on with it. Four years on and I look back and can't believe I've got this far. My boys are happy, healthy and most of all, loved and I think I've done a damn good job and I'm sure you are doing the same! It's easy for me to say but it will get easier....
As for groups, I've found none on the web perhaps we could set one up.....!
Ronnie
