Contribtuors wanted for DNA Stories

Posted by Clare Charles at July 11. 2008

I am a researcher on the SMG Productions (Glasgow) television show called DNA Stories, and we are currently looking for people to take part in the programme which helps people trace long-lost relatives through DNA testing.

Due to air in October on Sky Real Lives, it is presented by Lorraine Kelly and this is the 2nd series of the programme. It is filmed in an enclosed studio (no audience), and done in a documentary style.

I thought this forum would be a good place to generate some interest as we are looking for contributors from various walks of life. Or if anyone has any suggestions for where we might find good contributors please get in touch. We offer those who appear on the show a free DNA test, done by an approved DNA testing company.

We are looking for interesting, emotional stories. For example, we have so far been contacted by people who have been separated from family members and believe they have found who they are looking for. (The programme is not about tracing distant family trees or testing ethnicity.)

Those interested in appearing or just want more information, can contact 0871 827 5020 or email dnastories@stv.tv or emily.henderson@smg.plc.uk
